If an incident or event is removed and it doesn’t destroy main theme of the play it is loose plot structure. It is considered superfluous part of the plot. There are several incidents and events in the Jew of Malta which seem disconnected with the plot structure. If those incidents are removed from the play it doesn’t damage main theme of the play. Main theme presents that Barabas worships wealth and tries to get wealth hook or by crook. To get money out of the building he takes support of his daughter. She devotedly helps her father to get the money out of it .Besides there are some incidents which are parts of loose plot.
First, Slave of Barabas and his involvement in prostitute seems additional event of the play. If it is removed it doesn’t destroy main theme of the play. The play seems condensed with the many incidents in the play which makes the plot complicated .
Second, in last he plays games to entangle the governor and Turkish minister for the sake of wealth which seems disgusting because he shows extreme cunningness.
Third, Barabas also fakes his own death and escapes to find Calymath. Barabas tells the Turkish leader how best to storm the town. Following this event and the capture of Malta by the Turkish forces, Barabas is made governor, and Calymath prepares to leave. However, fearing for his own life and the security of his office, he plays another trick.
Forth, Barabas sends for Ferneze. Barabas tells him that he will free Malta from Turkish rule and kill Calymath in exchange for a large amount of money. Ferneze agrees and Barabas invites Calymath to a feast at his home.
There are some incidents which leaves no big effect on the main theme of the play if those incidents are removed or deleted from the text. So they can be called part of the loose plot structure.

Characterization in Dr Faustus by Christopher Marlowe:

Characterization in Dr Faustus by Christopher Marlowe:
Keywords: Hollow, Weak, Mediocre

Dr Faustus, a scholar is decreased into a common man. He is famous and learned person who is doomed to hell. There is completely difference between Dr Faustus who is scholar and a common man who is slave of his materialistic wishes and desires. There are several aspects which make him a hollow person.

A scholar is a man of knowledge and learning. He is mentally strong enough to find out new things. He searches, researches, invents and discovers new things and new horizons. But a common man is hollow inside while outside, he commits showy things as to make jokes, to make tricks, laugh at minor things and cheat to the horse dealer for the sake of petty profit. He has lost his self-respect in his eyes.

He is weak and has no link with the scholar and learned person or with the man who has earned name and fame as a scholar. He is a scholar when first act opens and by the passage of time he transferred into mediocre man gradually. He becomes the person who enjoys in making tricks and who laughs at others. He is weak who has no self- control or who is helpless before the contract done by Lucifer. He has no grip over him. He repents; he cries and commits low things.

Eventually character of Dr Faustus becomes hollow who is crying, who is helpless or who is feared on getting the hopeful images by good angel. He becomes worried on getting the angry impressions by evil angel. A time was when he was the proud of the Germany and in the end he is a low person who is crying for help but remains disappointed.
It is human thinking which makes him a scholar or a petty person accordingly.
He is not stronger in his will and skill, both are not in his control.

Humanities in Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe

Humanities in Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe

Keywords: Intellectual, thinker, mastermind

A scholar’s intellectual powers are in his control and he focuses on good for sake of humanity. Doctor Faustus is told a well-respected German scholar who has vast knowledge of logic, medicine, law, and religion. A high qualified person has developed an aptitude for study and remains restless for facts. There are several aspects don’t match Faustus and a scholar because he seems mediocre person throughout the play.

Doctor is a well-respected German scholar. On this level he can’t ignore his knowledge.  He is a thinker and his thinking powers are in his control. It is not possible for him to mock on others and accept superfluous things to think. He doesn’t like showy things like magic or tricks.  Negative thinking, negative actions,  petty things , react aggressively are not the characteristics of mastermind people. He can happy with discussions and interactions. He can’t be happy on getting rich gifts.
His work becomes his life in his soul. False images can’t appeal to a scholar who is learned person. He is restless without searching while every subject under his study is limitless horizons. There is no discussion and no exposure of scholarly knowledge which could distinguish his thirst of knowledge. Perhaps it was not so advance age as it is now or may be Marlowe wanted to say differently.

Faustus gains limitless power however, his horizons seem to be narrowed. On the other hand conjuring tricks give him strange delight. Gaining absolute power corrupts Faustus by making him mediocre. He is transformed into a person who pleases in petty things and showy tricks.

Universality in The libation Bearers by Aeschylus:

Universality in The libation Bearers by Aeschylus:

             Keywords:  Nature, Truth, Attraction, Attachment
Universality is defined as “common experience share by all” because it is observed almost by all human beings in world. It doesn’t matter where he belongs to or what he does. It also matter not if he is poor or rich. Specific feelings are same everywhere. In the libation bearers by Aeschylus there are several aspects which are facts of human nature.
Reality can’t be denied that most of siblings have mutual attraction. They have blood relation and grow up by same parents, under same roof. Most of their time is spent in same environment. In case they live far they have mutual attraction. In libation bearers prince Orestes and princess Electra live far but they have attraction for each other. Reason is also for having the same mission to take revenge. They support and motivate each other in taking revenge of their father’s murder. Both siblings are strangers but on the tomb they recognize each other by the tokens and signs. Their purpose is same and they support each other to take revenge.
Friendship is a strong relation too. It is valued in every age, in every society in world. In social life children develop faith in friends. They encourage and motivate to improve and progress. They have mutual attachment. Love and faith have been observing since time immemorial. It is not the same but mostly they are universal truths. Almost all experience love and faith because without it life is hell. In play prince hesitates to kill the queen but his friend reminds his obligation towards king, state and god Apollo.
Mutual attachment can be used in developing positive behavior in early age. Power in faith can be utilized in developing strong characteristics in human beings.

Universality in Agamemnon by Aeschylus:

 Universality in Agamemnon by Aeschylus:
   Key words: Instinct, Reality, Humanity

By using instinct human beings can be educated for the welfare of people.   Agamemnon, Greek drama, presents revenge and injustice, conventional drama of the age. Besides it marks some aspects which can be developed for sake of good. There are some related points which reveal universality in the play.

Same strength and struggle can be used positively for humanity. In play, king Agamemnon faces hardships far from his state. He fought war for the sake of honor. He made the princess his slave against her willingness. She had to leave her home and land while queen hated her and eventually she killed her.

Sex is considered one of the basic needs of life. In absence of king, queen developed unfair relation with enemy of king Agamemnon. In anger people can cross limitation and commit extreme things like queen in the play. She doesn’t care of her responsibility, state, husband and children. On killing king she doesn’t repent but proud on taking revenge.
Agamemnon’s power makes Cassandra, a Trojan Princess, helpless. He takes him as his slave and brings her to palace against her willingness. Clytemnestra, queen, orders Cassandra come inside the palace. Then Cassandra begins to speak, uttering incoherent prophecies about a curse on the house of Agamemnon. She tells the Chorus that they will see their king dead and to her also. Reality is man makes man helpless on the behalf of his power. The power they use in making others helpless can be used to make them hopeful. The energies are used in negative sense can be used positively. The power they use to weep others can urge them to smile.

Good intention brings fruit and violence causes violence. Keeping in mind basic needs of man, and reality much can be possible for the sake of humanity.
